Who are we?

The Atherton Aero Club is a friendly group of aviation enthusiasts from around the Far North Queensland region. Members are involved in all facets of aviation from micro-lights to general aviation. Some members are actively involved in building aircraft, most members fly aircraft and all members welcome the opportunity to discuss everything about aviation!

Members meet monthly on the third Sunday of every month at Atherton Aerodrome (YATN). We have regular BBQs, organised fly-ins and other exciting events.

Atherton Aerodrome (YATN S17 15.7 E145 30.9) is a grass airstrip located under the 6500ft CTA step approximately 26 nm south-west of Cairns. Hangarage, fuel and accommodation is available upon request.
